Dear Mark,
This is the perfect opportunity to send you a very long overdue “thank you” for the beautiful oak floor from Vermont. The flooring is probably one of the most outstanding features of our home. It is subtle, classic, and fits perfectly with the “old” feel we wanted to create. The wide boards in varying widths and the long planks, with the mellow, honey color are just what we envisioned for the home. Thank you, too, for your courtesy and professionalism in handling the situation when the original flooring shipment was destroyed in the brake dust fire on the long distance carrier truck. You replaced the shipment quickly so the builder could remain on schedule, and without question as to my husband and myself. The floor is easy to maintain, and looks as good as the day it was installed. We are very happy with your product, and have recommended it to friends.

“Harvest to Plank Floors” – Park Slope in Brooklyn Discovers Us

There are now 15 to 20 apartments at 910 Union Street in Park Slope Brooklyn, New York that have Vermont Plank Flooring’s “Roasted” Red Oak Flooring. The developer, Perry Finkelman, CEO of American Development Group, sourced his flooring carefully and was impressed with our Forest Stewardship Council certification for responsible forestry.

The “Roasting” of our Red Oak Plank Flooring means the wood is thermally treated in kilns upwards of 500 degrees without oxygen.  This caramelizes the wood and turns the wood dark all the way through.  This is good because if you ever had to sand the floor you don’t need to stain it dark.  Also, by treating the wood this way it makes the fibers inert.  Therefore, this floor won’t move and is great over radiant heat.

The floor was finished with a zero VOC finish called Rubio Monocoat .  For this project they finished the floors with the Rubio 5% White Oil one coat finish.

Hi Mark,

I just returned from Massachusetts where I was able to see your flooring in
person for the first time. We put down all that we purchased from you
last month and it is stained, it looks truly spectacular. Several of the
boards have amazing flecking and grain patterns. We had been considering a
different floor for our first floor but after seeing this we would like to
put it all the way through the home.

Thank you,

Chuck W.

We purchased your Vermont Plank Flooring in character Hickory in June of this year for our kitchen/great room 20x24. We and our builders were overwhelmed by the quality and the look of a traditional solid hard wood floor. Everyone that sees it is amazed at its beauty. When our Woodstock Soapstone wood stove is running the room’s character is welcoming. Thank you for a great product from a great tradition. We always try to buy locally and support our neighbors.
